The Alternative Program is a special program administered by Banting Memorial High School (BMHS).  It is run off-site, and students have the opportunity to work outside the regular school setting.  It is set up to help students who have been unsuccessful at a traditional high school by offering credit courses in a different environment.

Ready for a change?

The Alternative Program seeks to help students take responsibility for their learning and for their actions.  Many students in the Program are at risk of dropping out, or they have already left school but want to get back in.  Students are provided opportunities to develop the skills and confidence they need to be successful and be better prepared to re-enter the regular school system at a later date.  Each student is encouraged to view his or her educational experience as worthwhile and valuable.
